GAME SUMMARIES

SOX SWEEP BOMBERS

July 20, 2008 - Derek Luque leads offensive assault in game one, going 3 for 4 with a sacrafice fly, a home run and a double. Mario Mendoza batting ahead of Derek had three hits including a double. In total we had 16 hits, including five hits in a row to lead off the game. Mario Mendoza got the win by pitching the final four innings, giving up only one run on two hits, with no walks.

In game two, Mario led the offense by going 3 for 3 with a homerun. Chris Guerra, coming out of retirement again had two hits and two walks to complement his steller play at 2nd base. Derek Luque pitched a complete game, called after five innings, to get the win.

CADENA FANS 17!

July 13, 2008 - Danny Cadena set the all time White Sox record by mowing down the hapless El Cerrito A's in a complete nine inning game. Danny struck out the side 3 times and struck out their # 3 hitter all four times. Dannys' fastball was zipping up to the plate and his breaking was dipping beyond the reach of the bats. Danny has come a long way with the Sox. In the past, he was inconsistant and didn't seem interested in getting better. After being out most of last year with an ankle sprain we didn't know what to expect this summer. Danny has consistently delivered this summer and we expect to see better oportunities open up for him in the future.

In game two of the double header the El Cerrito A's came out firing and scored 5 runs in the first inning off of Scott Newberry. We could not fully recover and went on to lose 11-4. We scored 3 runs in the 4th inning on four hits, with De Juan Johnson and Mario Mendozo getting key RBI's. Nick Loera had a career day getting 2 doubles, a single and a home run on the day. New player, Andrew Ontai, premiered by also getting four hits on the day. Together they played a solid middle infield.
